New infant feeding support group launched to support families across Warrington

A new infant feeding group has been launched to support new parents and their infants with their feeding journey.

The new session will be held every Monday between 1.30pm and 3pm at the Boulting Avenue Family Hub, starting from Monday 22 June.
The sessions are delivered by our friendly, experienced team of infant feeding support workers who can offer advice on your feeding choices, how to start your feeding journey and provide support if you have trouble with feeding.

Whether you choose to breastfeed, bottle feed or a combination of both, these sessions can help to:

  • provide education about infant feeding and your options
  • support with common challenges like sore nipples, latch concerns or low milk supply
  • promote positive attitudes towards breastfeeding
  • boost your confidence and empower you in your feeding journey

The introduction of this new session means support is now available Monday to Friday at a variety of times and locations across Warrington. The sessions are part of our UNICEF Baby Friendly Accredited service, helping families to develop close and loving relationships with their newborn.

To celebrate breastfeeding across Warrington, the team will be holding tea parties at each session next week! Come along to connect with other new parents and support each other.

Drop in to your local infant feeding group next week to join the celebrations.

Lesley Crawford, Warrington infant feeding co-ordinator, said: “Over the last 2 years we have seen an increasing number of families at our infant feeding drop-in sessions in Warrington. We welcome families from across the borough to our various locations, and no matter how you are feeding their baby, we provide non-judgemental, evidence-based support. We are excited to introduce our fifth session per week so we can maximise the support available to our families, when and where they need us most.”
