Work experience

We offer work experience placements in our NHS community services at North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust. Hospital based placements are not available.

This page explains what we offer, who can apply and how to apply.

What we offer

We provide clinical and non clinical work experience in community settings, including:

  • insight days
  • short placements of up to 5 days

All placements are community based.

Where placements take place

Placements are based in community locations, such as:

  • local health centres and clinics
  • community service sites
  • corporate offices

Most placements are in Halton and Warrington. Some opportunities are available through our North West Community Dental service.

Placements do not take place in hospitals.

Who can apply

  • Clinical placements are available for people aged 16 or over.
  • Non clinical placements are available for people aged 14 or over.

We aim to prioritise people who live in the communities we serve, but all applications are considered.

How to apply

Apply using the online work experience application form at the bottom of this page.

Please:

  • complete all sections
  • explain clearly why you are interested in the placement

Only applications submitted through the online form will be considered.

Priority for care experienced people

As part of our Care Leaver Covenant commitment, we prioritise placements for care experienced people.

You can tell us this on the application form. We will then offer additional support.
