Hospital radio stations
Last updated: Tuesday 21 April 2026Patients at Warrington and Halton Hospitals are able to tune in to a selection of radio programmes via the hospital radio during their stay with us. Each hospital also has its own radio station offering a mixture of programmes brought to you by a committed band of volunteers.
Radio General - Warrington Hospital
At Warrington Hospital patients on the wards are able to listen to Radio General on the Bedside Units. All you need to do is press the orange RADIO button and just tune into HOSPITAL RADIO by using the ▼and ▲ buttons.
Patients can continue to listen to Radio General online via our website or via their radio apps when they are discharged from hospital and return home.
Radio General is on the air 24 hours a day with music to cater for all tastes. Programmes include your music requests, live commentaries of the Warrington Wolves and the Widnes Vikings rugby league matches as well as programmes of local interest. Radio General also broadcasts live from events around the town. On Sundays a service is broadcast which is produced by the Chaplaincy Team. The programme guide is available on our website.
Patients can request music or songs by dialling *800 for free from the bedside unit. Family and friends are welcome to call or WhatsApp us on 01925 662122 or email the studio at radiogeneral.studio@gmail.com to dedicate a song to patients.

Radio Halton - Halton Hospital
At Halton Hospital, patients can listen to 24/7 music from Radio Halton.
Tune in via your own device to our website at radiohalton.org and listen to our presenter-led programmes seven days a week.
The schedule for live shows (with presenters) is available on Radio Halton's website.
