The Living Well Warrington Website has received national recognition at the HSJ Digital Awards 2026.
The website, which has been developed alongside residents and community groups, was named highly commended in the ‘Reducing Health Inequalities through Digital’ category.
The site acts as a central signposting resource, helping to connect people across Warrington with information from local organisations, events and activities, health and wellbeing advice, schools and education, support for carers, cost of living advice and more.
The commendation recognised the innovative approach to reducing the differences in access to health and wellbeing services across Warrington and the support for those who may not feel as confident with using digital technology.
With easy-to-navigate service listings, interactive neighbourhood maps, personalised information and dedicated digital sessions to build confidence in using digital devices, people across Warrington are empowered to take control of their own wellbeing.
Nikhil Khashu, chief executive at North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust, said: “It is a huge achievement to see another part of the Living Well Warrington programme recognised at the HSJ Digital Awards. This commendation is a fantastic achievement for all partners involved and it is brilliant to see the positive difference it is making to our community recognised at a national level.”
Since the launch in March 2025, the website has been visited more than 250,000 times, with almost 6,000 users now logging in to use the platform each month.
Warrington Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for health, wellbeing and adult social care, Cllr Tony Higgins, said: “I’m delighted the Living Well Warrington website has received this national recognition. It’s a fantastic resource, delivered by a range of partners to meet local needs. By bringing together accessible information, local opportunities and practical support in one place, the platform is helping to reduce health inequalities and empower more people across Warrington to take control of their health and wellbeing. We’re proud to see this innovative approach recognised and look forward to continuing to build on its success.”
When asked what they thought about the site, one user said: “This is a great site that I pass to all my patients that I see. There is something for everyone and this gives the opportunity for patients to choose support for themselves once they have looked through the offerings.”
The Living Well Warrington programme is delivered through partnership working between North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust, Warrington Borough Council, Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and a range of public sector organisations and local voluntary sector partners.
