Breastfeeding and Infant Feeding – Halton

General introduction

We help both new and experienced parents who need  common feeding issues that require more specialist input than the initial support provided by midwives and health visitors in the first months and year of life.

We work closely with other professionals to ensure that parents, carers and professionals are supported on all aspects of infant feeding:

  • breastfeeding peer support service
  • public health nurse teams (health visitors, staff nurses, nursery nurses and clinic nurses)
  • midwives
  • children’s centre teams
  • GPs
  • local councils

You can also access infant feeding support and education through your midwife, health visitor, local clinics and children’s centres. These services are available during pregnancy and after your baby is born.
