Bladder and Bowel Service – Halton

General introduction

Bladder and bowel problems can affect men and women at any age or stage of life and are more common than many people realise. With the right support, most people can achieve a much better quality of life.

We are a nurse‑led service specialising in continence care and supporting patients and carers to manage bladder and bowel issues through lifestyle management and personalised treatment plans.

We will:

  • offer a full, confidential assessment carried out by a specialist nurse, looking at a wide range of factors to understand the causes of your symptoms
  • discuss treatment options with you, including referral to other health services for further investigation or treatment
  • offer training on continence issues to you, your family or carers, and other health professionals to help everyone involved manage your condition effectively
  • provide continence aids and products, based on clinical need
